With modern vehicles requiring better fuel economy, and increased performance, Volkswagen and Audi have replaced the standard Automatic transmission (which always suffered from lower fuel economy than it’s manual counterpart), with a new DSG (or Direct Shift Gearbox), that offers better acceleration, and comparable, if not better fuel economy than similar manual vehicles. Volkswagen recommends regular service intervals of the DSG every 60,000km (or 40,000 miles). Here at Euromotive, we offer the DSG service, as well as all recommended Volkswagen and Audi maintenance intervals. It is very important to stick to these recommended service intervals to keep your vehicle running smooth, and worry free.

A common issue we are starting to see popping up on modern GDI (or Direct Injection) vehicles, is excess carbon build up. Normally, when carbon build up starts to get moderate to severe, you may notice your vehicle running rough on initial start up, but eventually, as the car warms up, the idle will smooth out. At times, you may even see your check engine light flashing as your vehicle stutters.  Symptoms more common on city driven cars Carbon build up is easy to misdiagnose, as it does display similar symptoms as bad spark plugs, or ignition coils. If left un-checked, carbon build up can seriously affect the drive-ability of your vehicle. The only way to remove excessive carbon build up, is by removing the intake manifold and manually scrape away the carbon build up. A very excessive, and expensive job. Until now. A lot of road noise from my VW Touareg and bearings and tires are ok I have found an issue with the differential’s on the touareg’s, these are sealed units and cannot be rebuilt, would need to be replaced as a complete unit.
