With modern vehicles requiring better fuel economy, and increased performance, Volkswagen and Audi have replaced the standard Automatic transmission (which always suffered from lower fuel economy than it’s manual counterpart), with a new DSG (or Direct Shift Gearbox), that offers better acceleration, and comparable, if not better fuel economy than similar manual vehicles.
